Quality Assurance Protocols Enhanced for Fresh Produce Professionals
14th Feb 2020
Quality assurance within the fresh produce industry has long been associated with a timely, detail-oriented process. At the recent Fruit Logistica in Berlin, Germany, Fresh Produce Instruments showcased more effective and efficient tools for multiple aspects of quality control including ethylene management, air and gas analysis, humidification, dry matter, Brix, fruit firmness, temperature, water quality, and more.
Produce quality analysers designed specifically for avocado, kiwi, and mango attracted particular interest at this event. Based on the original F-750 Produce Quality Meter, these quality analysers quickly gauge the maturity of fruit via dry-matter assessment. Utilizing a wi-fi connection, the data collected using these devices can be seamlessly transferred to a computer for easy analysis and data sharing, as well. Rather than waiting for long periods of time and wasting a sizeable portion of harvest for quality checks throughout the maturing process, produce quality analysers non-destructively gauge fruit maturity in less than a minute – this saves you time and future harvest.
