Sugar (Brix) and acidity are integral quality parameters for most fruits and you can now test both with one device, the Atago PAL-BX|ACID meter. This handheld device is a standard refractometer and measures Brix levels using light refraction, while also testing acidity levels using electrical conductivity (EC). The Multi-Fruit model is made specifically for measuring Citrus (low or high acidity), Grapes & Wine, Tomatoes, Strawberries and Blueberries. It is supplied complete with a scale, beaker and measuring spoon - everything you need for easy, precise, and accurate measurements.
Features:
- Sugar (Brix) x Acidity Balance: Besides sugar level or sweetness, acidity or tartness is another important element that influences the taste of fruit. By simply pressing a button, the PAL-BX|ACID promptly displays the sugar-acid ratio of fruit and vegetables.
- Simple Measurement Procedures: To measure acidity, dilute sample with water, place it on the sample stage and press the START button. Anyone can easily take these measurements.
- No Reagent Required: Conventional acid level measurement such as acid-base titration requires large amounts of costly reagents and tedious disposal procedures. Atago's Brix-Acidity meters require absolutely no reagents
- Easy to Read Measurement Values: The acid-base titration method derives acid content as the phenolphthalein changes color, when the solution is alkalized, but it is difficult to determine the equivalence point. With the PAL-BX|ACID, anyone can easily see the results with a digital readout.
- Transportable and Easy to Carry: Compact in size, it is lightweight and easily carried by anyone.
